Biotope
Boletus edulis grows in mycorrhiza especially with spruces (Picea), less often with other trees, e.g. beeches (Fagus sylvatica).
Macroscopic and microscopic features
Cap: brown, white-brown, shiny, often wrinkled.
Tubes: at first white, later turning to yellow to olive-yellow.
Stipe: with a white reticulum, sometimes only in the upper part.
Context: white to a bit yellowing, woolly at the base when old. Taste and aroma pleasant.
