The main aims of this thesis were to investigate the corticioid fungi (Basidiomycota) in the province of Salzburg (Austria) and to characterize the living environments, substrates, distribution density and distribution patterns of the species. Any available record of corticioid fungi in Austria has been considered in the distribution bibliography (except for very common species). Therefore, the extended list of species presented here is an almost complete catalogue for the corticioid fungi currently known in Austria.
