Mycoflora of Bavarian Forest National Park
Author: Editorial staff 21 May 2016
The Czech non-profit organization Mladý mykolog z.s. in cooperation with german colleagues run an extensive mycological research of the western part of the Bavarian Forest National Part that is located in the Regen district and could be specified as areas of Falkenstein and Roklan. Well-preserved biotopes can be found here. One of our target is a comparative study of local mycoflora in comparison with the mycoflora of Šumava mountains in the Czech Republic.
From 22nd to 29th March 2016, several localities were visited within the area. Most of the territory has been snow-covered though, especially in the higher altitudes (Höllbachgspreng etc.). Several interesting taxons were found like Phellinidium pouzarii, or Scytinotus violaceofulvus, a very rare fungi that grows on fallen twigs of Abies alba. Locally abundant were fruitbodies of Pseudoplectania melaena and Tectella patellaris.
